I am very thankful for the service members (including my husband and several friends) who have gone to Iraq and Afghanistan. I am thankful for their sacrifice and their family’s sacrifice.
I have completed several Quilts of Valor recently:
The first is one I had to sew down the binding
The next one was a kit of fabrics that was given to me to put the top together
The third one is one that I made using my own fabrics - but modifying the pattern that is above
The next one is based upon my Twisted Rail Pattern (that is available for download)
and the last one is another based upon my Twisted Rail pattern - but done scrappy
You can click on the photos to see them larger if you wish. I will hopefully by the beginning of the year have the pattern with fabric requirements, etc. for the last two quilts in the Quilt of Valor Size.

Gorgeous!
Beautiful quilts - perfect for the servicemen.
The scrappy Twisted Rail is my favorite. I have a quilt almsot ready for QOV…just need to finish the binding! Then, cross my fingers as I wash it and hope that Retayne does it’s job protecting the white fabric.
Lovely - what an honorable cause to make quilts for. Great job!
Great Job! I do QoVs too so always like to see what others are making. Thanks for helping the cause!
Very nice quilts, Kim!
Those look great. Thanks for doing quilts for soldiers. I may have to take some of those leftover strips from all the AmHero quilts I’ve done and try this pattern. It looks quick.
What a worthy cause and what an excellent way to make someone feel appreciated. Good job, Kim!
[...] I have made a few quilts from those swap fabrics since that first August No-Buy challenge that Vicky started. I have made a Quilt of Valor with my reds and blues and I have started a Weedwhacker Star with my purples. [...]
