Yesterday, Labor Day, we went to the beach. Well one of the many beaches here on the island. We went to the Bellows Beach. This beach has a nice shallow area and a break that is fairly far out. Listen to me – one time at the beach here and I am sounding like I know what I am talking about. The part of Bellows Beach that we went to was military only, so it wasn’t as crowded as the public beach.
We got to the beach and got our stuff down and I went immediately out into the water. I didn’t stop to get sunscreen on, I left the kids with my husband and walked out into the water. Hence the lack of many photos. (you can click on any of the photos to make them larger, by the way)
First up, is a photo of my son in the water – he is the one in the green bathing suit in the foreground.
Next is my daughter in the sand – she didn’t venture out into the water very much.
Now some scenery at the beach – you can see that there wasn’t too much of a crowd.
This was a photo driving home – I normally don’t like to take photos in the car while it is moving, but it couldn’t be helped; the view is just too amazing.
I was totally wiped out when we got home I could barely move. Swimming in the ocean and walking on the sand takes a lot out of you.

Look at that sky! Gorgeous! Can I come visit?
Oh man!! Holy cow! Gee whiskers! I’m not jealous, not at all. No, really! OK, maybe a little.
FINE! Alot!
LOL– how can you tear yourself away from that to stay inside for any reason? Thanks for sharing that, it’s incredible……
ahhhhhhhhh the beach!! sounds like a perfect way to spend the day!
A day at the beach is my favorite place to be. When it is below zero here in Chicagoland please send me photos of warm sandy beaches.
Cute pictures of the kiddos!!! I love the picture of the palm trees. Gotta love living here in Hawaii!!! Hugs!
Thank you for sharing your beach pictures. I love your corner of the world!
Kim, OH MY GOSH! That is BEAUTIFUL!!!! Thanks for sharing those pictures. You are so lucky to get to experience living in Hawaii. I’m really happy for you.
BTW, I know this isn’t the correct post, but did you sell the glassware? I know it was Aunt Ella’s, but I think she would want you to be enjoying a sewing machine too!!! I know that your Grandmother would!!!!!!
Keep posting those pictures they are great! One more thing, have you been to the beach yet where PaPa was when he was in Hawaii???
Sounds like Heaven!
I love Bellows! One of my favorite beaches ever! We’ve camped there… rented cabins there… spent every holiday known to man there… taught our son to drive there (on the old runway)… we just loved it when we lived there! So fun to see your pics of it. Sigh… I miss Hawaii so much!
Of course you can! I have to stop saying it is a gorgeous day – because they all are here – not like north of Seattle where they were fewer and further between; but at least I appreciate the weather here
Su Bee – I will say it is hard to stay inside – though two things really help; air conditioning and quilting. I have found though, that I spend a lot more time outside than I did before.
It was wonderful to spend the day at the beach. It has been said that you could go to a different beach every weekend and after a year, you still have not visited them all. Oh, what a rough life we have here… lol.
Debbi – you have a deal – I will definitely post photos of the warm beaches when it is cold in Chicago!
Sara – It is wonderful here in Hawaii – I can’t believe I got that photo while we were driving!
Gayle – Your welcome – I hope to share much more photos of my little corner more often.
Aunt Kathy — Isn’t Hawaii beautiful?? Daddy is even thinking of coming here after he retires next summer… can you believe it???
About the glassware – no, I have not sold it. The company I was looking into wanted me to pay UPS shipping to North Carolina, plus was only offering a minute fraction of what they are selling it for (for example, a glass I have that they sell for $89, they are only buying for $13) – so I will hang on to it unless I get someone who really wants it.
I don’t know what beach Papa was on, but we did stay at Schofield Inn when we first got here.
Kim — it is Heaven here –I never want to leave!
Happy Zombie — Yes, Bellows was really nice. We live about 20 minutes away from Bellows, so it isn’t hard to get there – and can save money on renting cabins there…lol. We actually live in a very good location. The only thing that takes us a “long” time to get to is the North Shore, (which we haven’t been to yet).
