I am looking for a (free) pattern to make my daughter a simple craft apron for school. I have seen them where it is basically a square of two fabrics sewn together, set on point, and then one corner folded down at the top (probably stitched down as well). I wish I could find a picture of one, but alas, I can’t. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!
UPDATE:Â I have the name of the pattern and pictures to go off of to make my own… Thanks for all the help!!

There are many on-line catalogs that sell a Kids’ 4 Corner Apron pattern. I have seen the pattern on-line at Clotilde’s. At least you would have a good picture to look at.

Go to Wild Ginger’s for Wild Things. It’s a free download software to make patterns for accessories. I can’t remember if there is an apron pattern in there but you can try. It has some cool bags and hats too.
Did you get my first comment?
Nope so I’ll do it again. *sigh*
Go to Wild Ginger’s pattern making software for their free software download of Wild Things. I can’t recall if there is a pattern in there for an apron but there likely could be. There are patterns for hats and bags.
Aarrgh! it just doesn’t want to take my comment. Go to Wild Ginger for Wild Things http://www.wildginger.com/products/wildthings.htm
It is a free software for accessories: hats bags etc.
Here is a simple one that was made into a wonderful video tutorial http://sewmamasew.com/blog2/?p=475
Here is one that is just simple straight lines http://projectsforyournest.blogspot.com/2008/04/quick-easy-apron.html
Here is one that uses handkerchiefs, but I’m sure you could use bandanas also.
I hope these help.
Hugs!!!
You can see the one I made on Oct 26/07. I saw one in a shop and just made it without a pattern so as you can imagine it’s pretty easy.
If you contact me via e-mail, I can help you out with this.
Thank you for your help Deb

This site has 50 links for free apron patterns. Good luck.
For a long time, I looked for a children’s butcher type apron. I was too cheap to buy a pattern. I saw a children’s apron at the store, measured it with my hand, came home and drafted a pattern. I recently gave it to a toddler who is about 4 years old and it fits just right. I have also made an adult sized one for myself. It would be easy to draft any size in between. I didn’t care for the “on-point” apron because I thought the bottom point might get tangled in the person’s legs…just my personal preference. Let me know if you want some guidelines for drafting a pattern.
Thank you Jeanne!
Barb, thanks for the offer. I have already made her apron - just forget to post it…
