January Goals Revisited

How did I do on my January goals?

  • Opportunity Quilt – 6 blocks - I did part of them and handed them over to the Chair for this project to complete.
  • Friendship Braid – Piece Backing – Completed!
  • Simply Sophisticated – Two Blocks - Completed not only the two blocks that I wanted to do, but finished the top.
  • Sweet Treasures – Two Blocks – yea… didn’t get to this one
  • Friendship Braid – Bind – nope
  • Friendship Braid – Quilt – nope
  • Friendship Braid – Sandwich - nope, I am having problems sandwiching now that I have a new dining room table.
  • Pastel Lucky Stars – Complete Binding – yes, this was done
  • Home for the Holidays – Piece Backing - yes, this one got completed
  • Home for the Holidays – Sandwich - again, nope because of the problems with sandwiching things
  • Home for the Holidays – Quilt - nope
  • Home for the Holidays – Bind - nope

All in all a productive month, but some things I really wanted to do didn’t get accomplished.  I do need to find a way to sandwich my quilts without having to put them on the floor.  I used to put them on my kitchen table and clamp the layers to the table and then pin.  I got a new dining room table at the first part of the year and now I don’t want to mess it up at all.    I tried to use my table in my sewing area, but I can’t clamp to it because the table is too thick.

I hope you had a productive month too!

State of the Stash – Week 5

There was nothing in or out this week.  The fabric I ordered last week still hasn’t arrived.  The whole house was down with a cold, so no sewing this week really.  I did go to a guild workshop yesterday for making fabric postcards for our quilt show to sell.

So on to the numbers:

Used:  0 yards
Used YTD:  25.5 yards

Purchased: 0 yards
Purchased YTD:  17.5 yards

Net: – 8 yards YTD

Holy Busting Batman!!

(AKA – State of the Stash, Week 4)

This week I didn’t purchase anything (well, I did, but it hasn’t arrived yet to the stash, so it doesn’t count until it gets here – it was also 1 yard so that I could finish the backing of a quilt).  I have also had a gift certificate to one of my LQS’s and it hasn’t been used yet – I am so proud of myself.

This week, I busted 16.5 yards.  Yep… you read that right, 16.5 yards!

Here is a summary:

Used:
Sweet Treasures – Block 8 0.5
Sweet Treasures – Block 9 0.5
Sweet Treasures – Block 10 0.5
Sweet Treasures – Block 11 0.5
Sweet Treasures – Block 12 0.5
Sweet Treasures – Block 13 0.5
Sweet Treasures – Framing 1.5
Sweet Treasures – Setting Triangles 0.75
Sweet Treasures – Sashing 3.5
Sweet Treasures – Stars 0.25
Sweet Treasures – Inner Border 0.25
Sweet Treasures – Outer border 2.75

Week Total 16.5

That brings my year-to-date total up to:

Purchased: 17.5 yards
Used:             25.5 yards

Net:                 – 8 yards

WOOT!!!

Oh- I added a new page – “State of the Stash” – it embeds my Google Spreadsheet for my Stash accountability sheet.

I’ve Been Busy

Wow. I didn’t realize finishing those blocks for the Sweet Treasures BOM would make me want to get the top done. I have been busy working on it. It is about 1/3 done right now as I stop for dinner and chill for the night.
