State of the Stash – Weeks 1 & 2

Though I am not really “stashbusting”, just trying to get projects done I am going to try to keep track of what I buy this year.  My guidelines for my stash report is as follows:

In: pretty simple, if I buy it or acquire it, it is “in” .  I will round to the nearest 1/2 yard to make my life simpler.  This will be mainly for kits, charm squares and BOM blocks – purchased yardage I will calculate what I actually buy.

Out: this is where it gets complicated.  Because I have several projects in multiple stages, what should I consider used and what not?  I am going to say if I cut the yardage and it gets used to make a backing , then it is out of my stash and into the WIP pile.  If it is made into completed blocks, then it is busted (ie BOM blocks).  But if I cut yardage for prep to making a quilt, it is not counted until the blocks  or top is made.  If the blocks are previously made prior to starting this stash report and not into tops yet, this is tricky.  I am going to say only those don’t count and only things that are used to finish the quilt will be counted.

That being explained, on to the State of the Stash.
