I did purchase a honey bun for a project that I have been wanting to do.  I also bought some backing for a quilt.  It hasn’t come in yet, so I am not counting it.
But…  I did go to  burgandybuttons.com and saw a couple of honey buns that I wanted with matching charm squares.  I put them in my cart and then decided I didn’t know what to make with it, so I took it out.  I then put another line in  and the same thing.  I walked away without ordering anything that time.  Then a couple of days later I found a honey bun that I wanted to make those clothesline baskets with, so that one did get ordered.  I finally found clothesline for me to do that project with.

Valentine’s Day 2010

Ok. I am a little early, but  since my hubby sent me flowers and they came today -

19 years ago, in my senior year in high school (his junior year), I had met this really cute guy and he happened to be sweet to boot.  We hung out together with friends and we went shopping at the mall together sometimes.  He had told me he just wanted to be friends, and while I was a bit disappointed, I was fine with it.  He was a great friend.  We got along great, and I didn’t want to loose such a great friendship.  Valentine’s Day, 1991, he asked me to be his girl in a Valentine’s Day card.  I wasn’t sure what I was reading, so I never answered him till later that afternoon when he actually asked me.  We have been together ever since.  Two years (and a bit more) later, we became engaged after he finished basic training.  February 1995, we were married.   We have two wonderful kids and are close to being done in the military.

Though he has to work tomorrow night, we plan on celebrating our Anniversary and Valentines Day next month by going away to Waikiki f0r a weekend without the kids.  I hope you have a wonderful day too!

Neptune’s Quilt

Yesterday, I had an all-day bee with my girlfriends. The main thing I worked on was my Neptune Quilt. I used charm squares and a honey bun to make this quilt. All the blocks were together, and half of the blocks were in the top when I started, but with talking and laughing and eating, It took me most of the day to finish the top. I blame it on the piano key border. That was a lot of little piano keys (60-ish each side) to sew together. I do love the way the top came together though.

State of the Stash – Week 6

More buying this week than busting.  I didn’t sew at all until Saturday when I sewed all day with my girlfriends in my bee.
