A Pocket for my Nook

Though I was wishing for a Nook for Christmas, I wasn’t entirely sure that I was going to get one.  I had been looking at covers, pockets, etc. to keep it safe. The ones you buy are any where from $30-75.   Ouch.

I found this pattern for one for the kindle for on Moda Bake Shop.  I had a mini honey bun (10 strips) that I have had for a while.  I also found some fabric that perfectly went with it without having to go to the store.

I worked on it this morning and got it done in just over an hour.  I used fusible fleece for the inside that I had on hand.  I also found the perfect thread that has been in my stash for a little while.  So, cost for me… $0

So here it is.  I also did my first curved bindings.  not horrible.

It is a little bigger than the pattern called for.  I should have made it just a tad bigger or a tad smaller.  Bigger, I could have put my cord in the bag in its own compartment.  Smaller and it would be just snug and wouldn’t slide around.  This will do until I decide to make another.

Cute Nook case. I was surprised how expensive the cases are for them but I guess it’s all gravy! Jim (fortunately) didn’t pick out a very expensive one but it is nice. You’re going to enjoy using it (he said).
