This past Saturday, I walked the stage for my Associates Degree. I actually graduated on the 27th of January (my last class date), but the ceremony was held Saturday.
Here I am on the way to the ceremony. It was a yucky rainy day.
My husband and I right before the ceremony. My daughter is taking the photo so that is why the weird angle. I didn’t even think of taking photos with my kids until just now that is how nervous I was.
Here is a closeup of my honor cords. They are as follows:
Purple: Program Mentor
Silver: Suma Cum Laude (3.99 – 3.77 GPA) Magna Cum Laude was 4.0 only) I had a 3.98 GPA
Red & Navy: Phi Beta Kappa National Honor Society.
Here is most of my graduating class that was in the ceremony. There was one other that was on stage because she was giving the speech. Yes. There was only 5 of us total walking the stage.
My husband bought me the little graduation owl for my charm bracelet.
So I officially have an Associates in Applied Science in Medical Practice Management.
So what is next for me? I am actually back in school. I started back the week after I completed the MPM degree. I am going for an Associates in Applied Science in Health Information Technology.
Why another associates instead of a bachelors you ask? Because this one I can get in only 33 weeks (including breaks) since 70 of the 105 credits needed transferred from my MPM degree. This degree also offers an externship and the ability to sit for a certificate exam at the end.
The first 10 weeks is almost up already – we are in week 7 – so this degree will be fast and furious and I should hold this degree by September 15th.
