Weekend Sewing

Over the weekend I got the bug  to work on an old project – the 2012 Designer Mystery Block of the Month.

I had already started making the blocks, you can see them here – it looks as if the last time I worked on this project was February 2013.  That makes sense to me (thought it seems like a lifetime ago) since shortly after that was when I was the featured artist at my then guild’s quilt show.  Then not too long after the show (literally the same weekend that the show finished) we were packing up to move to Texas.  Once we got to Texas, I started my 19-month hiatus of quilting since I was in school and working part-time.

Back to the block of the month though.   I started with the next block in order:

It was so nice and easy, I decided I wanted to make another.  I posed the question on facebook of which one to make next:

Unfortunately, that was not much help since I was too impatient to start.  I ended up pressing all of the fabric and cutting them all out on Saturday night.

Sunday, I had another free day.  Hubby had to work and since we are still so early in the quarter – I didn’t have any homework.  I decided to sew some more. I completed blocks 7, 8, and 9.

I had so much fun this past weekend.  I had forgotten how stress-reducing that quilting can be for me.

I even loved trimming the half-square triangles down to the correct size.
