Monday was my guild’s annual potluck dinner. In addition to that, there is always an auction of donated unwanted items from member’s sewing rooms.
Here were my spoils from the evening. I spent maybe about $20.

A kit to make a small wallhanging.
A set of fabric – the floral is 1 yard and the other two are about 1/4 yard pieces.

These are almost half yard cuts
These are 1-yard cuts of a nice decor weight fabric.
Another thing that happens is the installation of new officers for the following guild year. I was installed as the guilds Vice president and Membership Chair.
Here my friend Susan and I (she was installed as President)
I also got a few things in the mail this week:

A new book
My Aunt Kathy sent me these – they were my grandma’s. I lost ONE of mine – a very commonly used size in all the BOM’s I work on. She sent me the whole set. Thank you Aunt Kathy!

Looking back at the date on this quilt- it was October 2008. It still has not been quilted. No surprises there with the amount of quilts that have to be quilted in my sewing room.

Barb at Bejeweled Quilts is hosting a giveaway…
an awesome giveaway!
She is giving away an AccuCut Go! If you go and mention that I sent you there (Kim West), we can BOTH win one.
If you are not interested, would you please just consider going and mentioning my name so I can win one???
I have wanted one of these for a while, but the only way I would ever get one of these is to win one.
Thanks!

What happened to the last three weeks? Oh my goodness I don’t know – it is all a blur to me.
I think I got caught up in the flurry of end-of-school activities and trying to make sure my son was caught up in all of his work that needed to be done.
I also had a lot of things happen to me. I am now the vice-president of my guild, The Hawaii Quilt Guild. I was elected at the last meeting during the end of May and will be installed in June. It is a one-year term with the option to run one more term afterwards.
The day after school was out (Thursday), we went camping for the weekend. I have been busy trying to get things together for that trip. It was fun and I have a few photos at the beach, but I forgot to charge the batteries in my camera, so I didn’t take many photos.
We got back from the camping trip yesterday, and I just promptly took a nice long hot shower and then chilled out on the couch in the AC and fell asleep. Today we will have to unpack the car and start the wash of all the clothes. Hubby is off work until next week, so we are spending a little time just getting things done around the house.
Pictures from the beach will be later, and I plan on doing some sewing later.

I worked on Hearth and Home Block of the month today as well.
I did blocks 3 & 4.
The first block I completed turned out quite well. Again, my pictures are fuzzy for some reason.
I also thought my second block came out ok. I kept messing up on it, but nothing more than turned patches.
Or so I thought.
Until I stacked them on top of one another to put them away…
That is a good 3/4” discrepancy in the block. It measures less than 11” square. I don’t know what happened. I guess I will have to call The Fat Quarter Shop to see if I can get another block mailed to me.
