Join a new block of the month.  I still have three to finish – two of them are done for sending out the blocks, but I am nowhere near caught up for them.

I just couldn’t pass this one up though…

I got a lot done this last weekend at retreat.  Mostly,I prepped bindings the first day.  I forgot my sewing machine so I got everything cut and pressed.  Carla let me use her machevery once in a while so I could finish them.

Max brought me my machine the second day so I finished the bindings and then worked on my Emma’s legacy strips sewn together.  Today I got one block from my Designer Mystery 2009 done.  We didn’t have a lot of time to sew so I didn’t get much done.

I will post photos this week from retreat.

Retreat Time

I am so excited.  I leave for retreat this afternoon and I will be gone until noon on Sunday.  I get to run away for the weekend.  Boy do I need it too!!!  Lunch & dinner are served to us, and we already have plans for a crock-pot breakfast casserole for both mornings.

I am taking several projects with me.  I am not sure what I will get to work on, but I hope to get a bunch done!

I am taking:

  • Bindings for several quilts to be prepped.
  • Emma’s Legacy Quilt
  • Frosted Windowpanes Quilt
  • Pineapple Quilt
  • Candy Dish Quilt
  • Pillowcases for the Military for prep work
  • Designer Mystery 2009 BOM
  • Heartland Heritage BOM

Ok.  I may seem a bit ambitious, but this is way more time than I normally get to quilt in one week – and no kids and food prep to boot.  I will see you guys later!

JellyRollSampler

I have decided to do this.  It will help me bust some stash and seems simple enough to get a couple of blocks done each month.  Plus, I can’t seem to say no to a new project.  The first block was posted yesterday.  If you want to join, click the above picture and you can make your own block.  I am sure you have an extra jelly roll (or two) that is sitting around waiting on you to use it.

Here is my first block.  I am using Kashmir III fabric.

I am trying to decide if I want to make a second using my Mary Englebriet Christmas Jelly Roll.  Stay Tuned for that decision.  :)

Shameless Plug

April 30th – May 9th the Hawaii Quilt Guild is having a quilt show.

The Featured Artist is Patricia Lei Murray.

Now for the shameless plug.

Every year we do an opportunity quilt.  This year, we made the Sea Star quilt from Scrap Basket Surprises in lovely fresh colors.  Many ladies worked hard on this quilt.  Though it is not shown quilted in this photo, rest assured, it is quilted and bound already.

For your opportunity to win this quilt, please contact me for details.  If you want an opportunity, I will accept checks (payable to the guild) and paypal (preferred) to enter your name in the drawing.

OpQuilt1

The size is about a queen-sized quilt.
