    Brown Bag Mystery #1

This mystery quilt was started earlier this year. I had stopped working on it when my machine was having spa time. This particular version I am not thrilled with the fabrics. It is not that they are not beautiful, they are just very thin compared to what I am used to working with. These are the three main blocks in the quilt. Now to put them together and complete the top. Cotton Cuts Mystery

I saw this (well my husband did) and thought I would give it a try. My husband is a fan of Tula Pink fabrics. I will say though, I will not do another cotton Cuts Mystery. I actually enjoy the process of cutting and while these are precise, it is not for me. I don’t like that my fabric is not starched. It makes it more difficult to sew with. Month 7 Related Images:

    Ponte Vecchio – BOM

One of my goals for the month of August was to get caught up with this block of the month. We last received month 7 kit and I had not even started the blocks. I had prepped fabric for months 1-5 though. This past weekend, I decided it was time to work on these blocks to at least do a few months to not make it so bad when it came time to put the quilt together. Month 1 Blocks Month 2 Blocks Month 3 Blocks These are always fun to work on and they stretch my skills as a quilter sometimes. The only thing I do not like about Fig Tree BOM programs is sometimes there is not enough fabric if you starch (which I do)and you have to hunt down the fabric – which it is not necessarily a Fig Tree fabric. My Secret Garden

I am such a sucker for a block of the month. So much so that I am working on several at a time. This was one that recently ended. I am shocked that I got the flimsy completed relatively close to the end of the BOM program. I have several that I need to go back to and finish. I am usually not a big fan of the ‘eclectic’ layout as this one is. However, Fig Tree quilts always makes it interesting. Related Images:
